Yep, they were everywhere and in just about every shot taken on the day. In fact if you took a shot after the game, they probably magically appeared even if they weren't there.Originally posted by liz
Yep. That is a Roo - the younger of the two I think. The other one may not be in that shot but he wouldn't have been far away!Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Except on the memorial slab of Carlton Draught cans. Maybe because they're not old enough to imbibe.Originally posted by goswannie14

Thus we see a part of the Indoctrination process. Don't forget, the Lions can also recruit them under the father-son rule!
I hope they can play."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Will be interesting to see what happens with the Roos boys (if they're any good) and Chris Langford's son too. Given they all live in Sydney, in theory they would be eligible to be picked up by a club under the NSW Scholarship system. But would a club be put off knowing that they are eligible under the FS rule, and hence they may not get any return for their investment.Originally posted by giant
Eldest son just made the NSW U/14 team according to a "hoomin interest" story in the Oz on the weekend.
I've been waiting for the cries of nepotism from RWO for days now....
Does anyone know if the FS rule overrules the Scholarship draft rule? Or would it be up to the individual to choose?
Does anyone even know if the Roos boys are eligible for the Swans under the FS rule? There used to be a qualification criteria if the father had served under an administrative capacity with a club but I have a feeling this was changed. As things stand, maybe they'd be Brisbane bound if good. Unless, of course, the Swans took them under the scholarship scheme, in which case I'm sure there would be questions of nepotism.
Mind you, if Roos is still coach of the Swans in 7 or 8 years time, they'd be better off playing somewhere else, as I'm sure Ryan Pagan would attest to.Comment

As an aside, is it just me or have the Roos' boys been sidelined in 2006?
They used to be regulars at Paul's press conferences but not so this year.
The cynic in me would suggest this is because Paul wants all the limelight."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I think that the FS rule still includes games as a coach, but I'm not 100% sure. If so, his sons would be eligible for both Brisbane and Sydney.Originally posted by liz

ETA: I just found this paragraph on the AFL website, so perhaps I'm wrong.
Sons of former AFL players can play with the same club their father played or officiated with under the father/son rule. The main eligibility requirements is that the sons father must have played 100 games for that club. The rule is designed to continue the traditions of association that a family has with a particular club.Last edited by monopoly19; 9 August 2006, 03:14 PM.Comment

is anyone else annoyed by roosy's boys celebrating with the team? this might come off as evil but its just so annoying everytime i see our proudest moment and there's these two kids there hamming up attention and celebration for doing nothing. i think paul invited them up there so its not like they barged on or anything but the players and the coach are the ones who did all the hard work to win the p'ship- shouldnt they be the ones who celebrate it (the fans as well
) ? if anyone else should be celebrating with the team on the podium it should be the coaching staff (eg. john longmire).

Roos' kids were probably his inspiration. That's why they are up there on the podium. But I agree, why not get everyone else's kids up there as well?Originally posted by nomae

My Pokemon brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "Wanna trade cards?"
